Imaging Technology

Our technology includes the most precise technology to make your visit with us run smoothly and comfortably. We use Marco OPD in our office. With this technology, you can obtain refraction, optical path difference, corneal topography, and wavelength analysis. We also use Optomap. This technology allows us to obtain what is known as an ultra-wide-field image of the retina without the need for using dilation drops. This can be especially helpful for those patients who do not wish to have their eyes dilated and for children.

To determine issues with the optic nerve we use OCT and Diopsys VEP/ERG. This helps us rule out concerns such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, glaucoma, and certain types of retinopathy. This technology relies on light waves for its use. Diopsys VEP/ERG measures visual responses of the entire visual pathway and may help us in diagnosing eye issues related to multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, and strokes.

To determine ocular pressure we use tonometry. A tonometer is used to measure pressure for monitoring or ruling out glaucoma in most cases. This is a safe, noninvasive method for patients.
